Beachwood who?
Since our relocation from Kent to Aberdeenshire we’ve been a bit quiet on the photography and, in the case of Bridget, the photobook/bookbinding fronts. There are many reasons for that - mainly related to ‘doing up’ an old cottage and the attendant mess it creates. There’s also the drain on time, energy and the desire to get gear out, set up printers and equipment while living in a cloud of old mortar dust, new plaster dust and everything that comes from knocking through thick granite walls.
Anyway, we’re there now as far as the major work goes. The printers are set up, the house is mostly dust free, and we’re getting back on an even keel. Except we put ourselves down for North East Open Studios some months back. So rather than do a ‘Richard thing’ and a ‘Bridget thing’ we’ve combined forces/talent/whatever into Beachwood Photography, the name being taken from the former name of the cottage.
So, we’ve got North East Open Studios (NEOS) starting on the 13th September and we’re exhibiting at Watergaw Ceramics, 4 Chapel Street, Whitehills, Banff AB45 2NB - there’s more information about the event and all the artists that are showing at https://www.northeastopenstudios.co.uk
